Our tasting classes are the clearest expression of that: six themed wines, a guided evening, a small room, and zero pretension. Saturday, October 17: A Saturday Afternoon with Bordeaux
Bordeaux taught the world how to blend. This class explores the iconic region that turned an agricultural gamble into an art form: Left Bank, Right Bank, different soils, different grapes, and how they express themselves in the glass. If you have ever wanted to finally understand what “Bordeaux blend” means, this is where it clicks. One to 2:30 p.m., $69 per guest, or $89 with a cheese plate. See the details and reserve.
Saturday, November 14: A Saturday Afternoon with Germany and Austria
Say German wine and most people say Riesling. It is a fair answer and an incomplete one. This class pours six wines from Germany and Austria and tells you why each one earned its place: Gruner Veltliner and its peppery snap, Weissburgunder and Silvaner, Spatburgunder, which is Pinot Noir speaking German, and Blaufrankisch, which tastes like it was grown for the dinner table.
